Happy Mother’s Day, lovelies!

As you may already know, Pink Maisy is closed on Sundays.  Why, you ask?  Well, while Sunday is an oft-busy shopping day for many Americans, the simple answer is this:  Rest and Rejuvenation.


That’s right.  We value YOU as a customer, professional, parent, student, and most importantly, the beautiful person that you are.  And because you wear so many hats and never stop (trust me, we know), we’ve declared Sundays as “Rest & Rejuvenation” days. 

Being sassy, stylish, and successful takes WORK.  And while maybe you could do it all and never take a break, why would you?  Our lives, jobs, families, friends, and commitments take something out of us every day.  Yes, they also bring us joy and are hopefully reciprocal in reward, but is that always the case?  

You know the answer to that.  

That’s why it’s extremely important to make time for YOU every single week. 

Here’s how:

  1. Schedule You– Whether it’s your dentist appointment or your pap smear you schedule it, right? Why?  Because if you didn’t, you’d never go. It’s gotta be on your calendar.  Listen, we know people (ok, it’s us) who schedule phone calls with friends just to catch up.  It might seem clinical, but if you value those relationships and don’t schedule time for them, life has its busy way of taking over.  Your relationship with yourself is the most important one there is. 
    Schedule your downtime!
  2. Stand By You – Don’t just schedule it, keep it. There’s going to be a hundred things that try to get in your way; don’t let them.  If you had a chance to have lunch with your favorite bucket-list celebrity or inspirational speaker, but you had to move other things around to make it happen, would you do it?  Of course you would!  You’d cancel other things for the chance to spend time in this person’s presence.  That’s how you have to think of your time with yourself.  It’s sacred. Be your own celebrity! And let people whisper.  It’s ok.  You won’t be able to hear them from the spa. J
  3. Spoil You –It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to sleep, exercise, or cook yourself a great meal. Do something that has a positive impact on your physical and mental health.  Get creative with what that thing might be.  Treat yourself.  Even if your “you-time” is planned for a nap, don’t treat it like any old nap.  Use the good sheets, break out the eye pillow, play soft, relaxing music, and don that luxurious nightgown you never use.  Go all out! 
    You, sexy thing, deserve it. 

Mother’s Day is the perfect day to start making the sacred commitment of time to yourself.  Say Sayonara to stress…at least for today.  You can reclaim your sassy, stylish, shoppin’ self tomorrow.
